Okay, I've had lyrics relentlessly running through my head today. So, I thought I would share more of the new song I mentioned last night with my ever so tiny corner of the world wide web.
I really have to be honest and tell you that this song comes from a place in me that truly wants to know, "If you did it then, can you do it again for me?"
Didn't you stop the stones,
For the one caught in her sin?
Didn't you lift her out,
From the hell where she had been?
Didn't you give her hope?
Didn't her suffering end?
Jesus, I need to know,
Can you stop the stones again?
Didn't you stop the wind,
For the ones caught in the storm?
Didn't you speak the words,
That kept them safe from harm?
Didn't you calm the waves;
Didn't their worry end?
Jesus, I need to know,
Can you stop the wind again?
Didn't you part the seas,
For the ones who followed you?
Didn't you make a way,
When there was nothing they could do?
Didn't you lead them out,
To a place they'd never been?
Jesus, I need to know,
Can you part the seas again?
Sometimes life it seems,
Leaves us helpless and afraid;
Sometimes all that we can see,
Are the stones, the winds, and waves.
Sometimes we need a shelter,
Sometimes we need a shield;
But sometimes we just need someone,
To whisper peace be still...
That final stanza is a bridge that will lead into one final stanza that I am working on now; it just happens to be the hardest to write. I'll tell you now that I know most of it. The very last line of the stanza that's still in my head says, "Jesus I need to know, can you bring me life again?"
Let me know what you think.
